DONNA JEAN EVETTS September 3, 1942 April 4, 2011 Donna Jean Evetts, 68, of Hewitt, Texas, passed into everlasting life on Monday, April 4, 2011, in the home of her youngest daughter, Dana, in Lorena. Her daughters were privileged to be her caretakers during this time, as doctors diagnosed Donna with brain cancer only eleven weeks ago. Donna's celebration of life is scheduled for Thursday, April 7, at 10:30 a.m. at Cottonwood Baptist Church, located at 886 FM 2643, Lorena. Donna's sons-in-law will officiate. Donna will be buried beside her precious husband in Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 5:00 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 6, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Donna Jean was born September 3, 1942, in Temple. Her parents were John and Beatrice Lynch of Moody. Her brother, John Lynch, Jr., resides in Gatesville with his wife, Pam. Donna married David Evetts on June 3, 1960, in Moody. Donna worked in the banking industry most of her life, but most recently worked for Lincoln Prescription where she ministered to people on a daily basis. Regardless of the place where she worked, Donna loved people. She did not have to work at this; she spilled love out on everyone she encountered. No one who knew her could be the same for having known her. She and her husband pastored numerous churches in their lifetime together: Tatum, NM, Anton, Muleshoe, Levelland, Lubbock, Speegleville, and Sunray. Prior to her husband surrendering to the ministry, Donna grew up in Moody and spent her early married life in Temple, Houston, and Waco. Donna enjoyed spending time with her family above any other activity. Her second love was reading. Her favorite genre was historical Christian fiction. She helped the bookstores stay in business! Above it all, though, Donna just wanted to be with her family. She never had an agenda of her own; she always chose to do what everyone else wanted. She was an amazing, charitable woman. Her greatest achievements in her own mind were her three daughters, Debbie, Denise and Dana. She lived to spend time with her girls and LIVED she did. Donna never met a stranger. She could talk to a rock and enjoy herself immensely. A person could look the world over and not find a single person who did not love her. God called her husband of 33 years, and the girls' father, Rev. David Evetts, to Heaven in 1993. Their reunion was certainly entertaining for the heavenly hosts! Her parents, John Edward Lynch and Beatrice Lillie Lynch of Moody also preceded her in death. Evelyn Morris, Aunt Evelyn Uncle Dooley, from Moody helped raise Donna after her mother passed away. Her grandparents were also from Moody, Geneva and Lankford Dickinson and Ethel & Guy Hill. Donna is survived by her three daughters, Debbie Copeland and husband, Glenn, of Carbon, TX; Denise Blake and husband, Robin, of Odessa; and Dana Reed and husband, David, of Lorena. She is survived by numerous grandchildren, Brandon & Becky Blake of Odessa, Kristin and Tim Jordan of Tuscola, Cody & Brant Johnston of College Station, Missy & Randy Lewis of Odessa, Matt & Holly Copeland of Arlington, Joe Copeland of Carbon, Jessica & Brandon Graves of Waco, Michael & Kayla Reed of College Station, and Amanda & Dest Sudduth of College Station; also her adored four great-grandchildren, Brody Blake, Colton Lewis, Caden Copeland, and Hailey Jordan; her precious brother, John Edward Lynch, Jr. and his wife, Pam, live in Gatesville with their children and spouses, Stacey & Don Hyde, and John & Megan Lynch; sisters-in-law, Joyce Hendrickson, lives in Montana, while sister-in-law, Doris Wallace, lives in Florida. She left behind numerous people who loved her like family; you couldn't know Donna and not love her. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Brandon Blake, Matthew Copeland, Joe Copeland, Cody Johnston, Brant Johnston, Tim Jordan, Randy Lewis, Michael Reed, and Brandon Graves. The family would like to thank Providence Hospice for its tender care in preserving Mother's dignity through the dying process, especially Samantha and Sheila. Thank you!
