DONNA PEOPLES Donna Peoples, age 90 of Waco, died Saturday, June 21, 2003 at a local nursing facility. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 25 at Waco Memorial Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Ron Durham officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial North. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 24 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Mrs. Peoples was born on September 2, 1912 in Lufkin. She was a graduate of Lufkin High School. She was a longtime resident of Waco and resided for a short time at the Regent Care Center of Woodway. She was a member of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, homemaker and loved to garden. Donna lived a full life and was an inspiration to everyone whose lives she touched. She provided full support to her husband, Clint, in his profession as a Texas Ranger Senior Captain and as a United States Marshal. He preceded her in death on June 22, 1992. They were also active in the Sheriff’s Association. Although her residence time was short, special thanks goes to the staff at Regent Care Center of Woodway. Survivors include her daughter, Donna McClendon and husband Sam of Waco; and nephews, Jim Henderson of LaVernia, Texas and Jack Henderson of Florida, and their families. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Myers, Goodson McKee, David Miller, Jim McClendon, Jim Henderson and Hosea Booth. Memorials may be made to Columbus Avenue Baptist Church.
