KORNEGAY, DONNIE Donnie Kornegay, age 85, of Waco died Monday, August 4, 2003 at a local hospital. Services will be held at 3pm Thursday, August 7 at Grace Temple Baptist Church with Rev. Van Vowell, Rev. David Brown, and Rev. Paul Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 7-9pm Wednesday, August 6 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Mrs. Kornegay was born at Talpa, Texas May 20, 1918. She attended school there and graduated from the Watt High School. She married Charlie Olin Kornegay September 18, 1937 in Watt. She taught Sunday school classes in several Baptist churches. She was a Christian example to everyone she met. Survivors include husband, Charlie Kornegay of Waco; daughter, Glenda Bullard and husband, Ben of Waco; sons, Billy Kornegay of China Spring and Donald Kornegay and wife, Sandy of Tacoma, Washington; nine grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. Pallbearers will be Billy Pat Kornegay, Brian Kornegay, Aaron Kornegay, Markum Rawls, Jesse Rawls, Leighton Bullard, Britt McClung, David Joliff, and Robert Mills. Honorary pallbearers are deacons of Grace Temple Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to Grace Temple Baptist Church Building Fund.
