FRENCH, DORA B. Dora Belle French, 90 of Waco went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 27, 2004. Services will be at 3:30pm Thursday, July 29 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with the Rev. Michael O. Patterson officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial South Chapel Hill Memorial Park. Dora was born in Waco February 3, 1914 to Ilar James and Mary Jane Turner French. She graduated from Waco High in 1932 and attended Baylor University. She retired from U.S. Civil Service Commission after serving more than 30 years. She was stationed at James Connally Air Force Base in Waco until its closure, then in Dallas until her retirement. While working for the Civil Service, she received many honors and acclamations for her superior service. As head of the payroll department, she traveled extensively training others and improving her own skills as well. She was a member of Western Heights Baptist Church and The Joy Class. She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Mary Frances French Lunsford. Survivors include sister, Kathryn French Phillips and husband, Don of Waco; brothers, Leonard French of Morgan’s Point, Charlie French and wife, Dorothea of Wortham, and James French of Kosse.
