Doris Charles Mcgill

DORIS T. McGILL, 88, of Waco passed away Friday, May 25, 2001 at her residence. Services will be at 9:30 AM Tuesday, May 29, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd, with Dr. Raymond Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. McGill was born on September 19, 1912 to Charles and Mary Katherine Tieman. She was raised in Waco and was a longtime employee of the Baylor Book Store until her retirement in 1977. Mrs. McGill was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Joe McGill, one sister, Eva Smith and two brothers Al Tieman and Sam Tieman. She was a member of Seventh and James Baptist Church, where she enjoyed cooking for Meals-On –Wheels. She was a member of the Tejanas Book Club and an avid bridge player. She was deeply loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed. Mrs. McGill is s urvived by two daughters: Renee Wernert and her husband Don of Anderson and Sally Hill and her husband Mike of Tulsa, Okla; four grandchildren: Chad Wernert, Bret Wernert, Eric Hill and Jayme Hill; one sister Irene Roeder and her husband Bill of Waco. Pallbearers will be Don Wernert, Mike Hill, Jackie Tieman, Jimmy Tieman, Chad Wernert, Bret Wernert and Eric Hill. Memorials may be made to Seventh and James Baptist Church or Caritas of Waco.
