Doris J. Harris August 16, 1919 - August 1, 2010 Doris J. Harris of Waco passed away Sunday, August 1, 2010. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 7, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., Saturday morning, prior to the funeral service. Doris was born August 16, 1919, in Mt. Calm, Texas, to James and Lillian Bland. She was a loving housewife, mother and grandmother. Before moving to Georgia to live with her daughter, Janet and husband Paul Smith, she was an active member of Central United Methodist Church in Waco. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Ben Robert Harris; their son, Robert Wayne Harris; and her identical twin sister, Dorothy Hall. She is survived by one son, John D. Harris and wife, Liz, of McGregor, TX; and one daughter, Janet L. Smith and husband, Paul, of Fayetteville, GA. Her surviving siblings are Bob Bland, Randy Bland, and Darlene Wall. Her grandchildren include Hillary Harris Hunter, Luke Harris, Stacey Harris Fendley, Bradley Harris, Rachel Smith Davis, Jeremy Smith and Rebecca Smith. She has six great-grandchildren and one on the way. Memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church.
