Doris Jean Webb Martin, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2005 at her residence. Graveside services will be at 1:30 PM Monday, August 1 at Waco Memorial North with Rev. Romilly “Cotton” Timmins officiating. Visitation with the family will be Sunday, July 31 from 2 to 4:00 PM at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque. Doris was born July 23, 1925 to Walter E. and Fannie Barnes Thomason Webb in Limestone County, Texas. She attended Kirk Public Schools, being one of the last graduates of the school in 1942. The family moved to Waco where she attended 4C Business College, after which she worked for several different local firms. She met and married Billy Martin November 2, 1946 after his return from the Navy. They acquired Standard Hat Works where she later assisted him in the business. They retired in 1992. She was active in several organizations including her church, golf and bridge and was an active member of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church for 53 years. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, two sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her husband, Billy; two daughters, Deborah Lee Allen of Cedar Hill and Brenda Jean Eastland of Waco; grandsons, Kyle Douglas Eastland of San Marcos and Casey David Allen of Cedar Hill.
