Doris Marie Adkins April 1, 1926 – August 17, 2007 Doris Adkins, 81, went to be with her Lord and Savior, August 17, 2007. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 21, 2007, at Brazos Meadows Baptist Church in Hewitt, with the Rev. Billy Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m. on Monday, August 20 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Doris was born to Floy and Annie Erlanson on April 1, 1926 in Waco. She attended Schools in Tokio and Elm Mott. She married Clyde Adkins on May 1, 1944. He preceded her in death on June 19, 1979. Doris worked in the cafeteria at Lakeview Elementary for many years before retiring from TSTC. She was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church of Elm Mott. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Marjorie Schofield; daughter, Clydene Milligan and son Gaylord. Survivors include her daughter, Laurie Jones and husband Gene of Lorena; grandchildren, April Strickland and husband Brad; Andrea Dawson and husband Jay; Cody, Colton and Savana Jones all of Lorena; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Alexis, Tyler, Tanner and Bryce. Other survivors: son-in-law, Larry Milligan and brother, John Erlanson. The family would like to thank our friends on Halls 4 and 6 at Westview Manor for their many years of loving care of our Mammaw. Your kindness will be treasured along with her memory.
