Our much loved mother has left this earth to join Dad, family, and friends who have gone before her. Doris Marie entered heaven on November 28, 2016. She was born in Otter Creek, Illinois. Our mother was a strong, happy adventurous woman. She and George were married for 45 years until his death. They raised 3 children. Mom was a devout Lutheran and member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. She and our father taught Sunday school and held numerous positions in church. Gardening was a passion of hers. Roses were her favorite. She loved to cook different dishes with dad always cheering her on and telling her it was the best meal he has ever had. Mom loved animals. Dogs and cats were part of our family. Our mother loved her children, Cindy, Kevin and George, her son-in-law, Joe, and daughter-in-laws, Janet and Sandy. But she saved her heart for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Those who have gone before her include her parents, Ross and Eveline; her beloved husband, George; her great granddaughter, Jolie Elizabeth; and relatives, Mary, Mike and Fred. Missing her forever are Cindy and Joe with Marcie, Jacie Grace and Jillian Kate. Micah, Lisa and Lessi. Andy, Audrina and Tanner. Seyward, Daniel, Emerson, Amery and Emmett. Kevin and Janet with Savannah and Kristi. George and Sandy with Chad and Andrew; her sisters, Dorothy and Glenda; In-laws, Bernie and Ed, Cookie, Chuck and Shirley, Barb; and many nieces and nephews. Thanks to so many, Shea, Charlie, Nell, Gay, Jenny, St. Matthew Lutheran Church, First United Methodist Church for their meals, Bluebonnet Hospice, Providence Hospice and Providence Hospice Place and their staff of angels. Graveside services will be held at Waco Memorial Park on December 2, at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Pastor Paul Krupicka of St Matthew Lutheran Church. Visitation will be at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey on December 1, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The family invites you to leave a message or memory on our “Tribute Wall” at www.WHBfamily.com.
