Doris Warren

Doris Warren passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at her residence in Fort Worth. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at noon at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. The service will follow at 1 pm in the Chapel with Pastors Parkey Cobern and Mark Whitmer officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Doris was born on December 20, 1924, in Temple, Texas to Maurice and Ina Parrott. She married Lloyd Warren on September 6, 1943 and spent World War II in San Diego, CA, working and waiting for his return from the war. She, along with her husband, were the founders of Jack ‘N’ Jill Donuts, a Waco tradition. Doris was a much loved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to all who knew her. In her last years, the response of caregivers was, “She’s so sweet. I would love to take her home with me.” Doris spent most of her life in Waco, moving to Fort Worth to be with family in her final years. In Waco, she was very active in the community through PTA and the Texas Angus Association, and was a member of Western Heights Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 66 years, Lloyd Warren, and her brother Charles Parrott. She is survived by two sons: Randy Warren and wife, Carol, of Fort Worth; Rick Warren and wife, Denny, of Fort Worth; three grandchildren: Dr. Scott Warren and wife, Ashley, of Waco; Brad Warren and wife, Veronika, of Palm Beach Gardens, Fl; and Kayla Keese and husband, Kyle, of Denton: and six great grandchildren.
