Dorothy Anne Fisher December 31, 1921 November 12, 2010 Dorothy Anne Fisher passed away Friday, November 12, 2010. Graveside services will be 3:00 p.m. on Monday, November 15, at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Walter Albers officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, November 14, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. A Memorial Service of Celebration will be held at 6:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Rev. Walter Albers officiating. Dorothy was born in Summit, IL on December 31, 1921, to Agnes and Martin A. Hesemann. She graduated from, and was confirmed, at St. Paul Lutheran School and Church in Chicago Heights, IL. After graduating from Bloom Township High School, Chicago Heights, she attended Gregg Business College and also took night school classes at Northwestern University in Chicago. After working at the Flintkote Company in Chicago Heights for several years, she moved to St. Louis, MO to assume the position as Secretary to the Dean of Concordia Seminary, where she met and then married the Rev. Walter F. Fisher on June 15, 1947. Their parishes included Kirkwood, MO 12 years, Pasadena, CA 7 years, Elmhurst, IL 21 years, and upon retirement, spent 10 years as Visitation Pastor at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Waco, TX. Dorothy enjoyed athletics, woodworking, needlecraft, antiquing, traveling, symphony and chorale music having played the flute herself, and the duties of homemaking. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Edith Fischer of Yonkers, NY; and brothers: Arnold Hesemann, Richard Hesemann, and Paul Hesemann. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years; daughter, Ruth Ann and husband, John Lestock, of Powderly, TX; son, Thomas Mark and wife, Rosemarie Fisher, of Mexia, TX; six grandchildren: granddaughter, Emily and husband, Richard Travis Ransom, and their children, Jay Coyt and Lucy Eleanor of Atlanta, TX; grandson, Alexander Lestock and his wife, Allison, of Dallas, TX; grandsons, Paul Fisher and Jacob Fisher, and granddaughters, Laura Fisher and Rebecca Fisher, all of Mexia, TX. Other survivors include the spouse of her brother Paul, Wilma Hesemann; the spouse of her brother Richard, Ruth Hesemann; the spouse of her brother Arnold, Rosemary Hesemann; her brother, Frederick Hesemann; sisters, Ruth and husband, Rev. James Dishop, of Naples, FL, and Elsie Hanke of Bridgeman, MI; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Wuertz of Leguna Hills, CA; and many nieces and nephews.
