Dorothy ''Doggie'' Blain

DOROTHY BLAIN Dorothy “Doggie” Blain, 79, of Waco, died Saturday, September 21, 2002, in a local hospital. Services will be held at 11:00AM, Tuesday, September 24 at Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Stephen Ramsdell and Rev. Jane Lovett officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00PM Monday at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Mrs. Blain was born April 27, 1923 in Waco to Gus C. and Rose Traub Harrell. She married Arnold “Buster” Blain September 4, 1942. He preceded her in death February 9, 1991. She had been a volunteer at Quality Care of Waco, Royal Manor and Providence Auxillary. Mrs. Blain was a member of First United Methodist Church where she was active in the Mary and Joseph Sunday School class. She enjoyed her trips with the Roland Fryer group to Louisiana and her 42 club on Wednesdays. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her son, Larry Blain and her sons-in-law, Brian Morris and T.L. Braddock and two sisters, Eda Pearce and Helen Phillips and one brother, Gus C. Harrell. She was an angel from heaven, always doing for others and never asking for anything for herself. Survivors: daughters, Brenda Braddock Franklin and husband Mike of Hewitt, Arnell Morris of Woodway; five grandchildren, Kim Braddock Scott and husband Terry, Michelle Morris Berger and husband Dave, Kurt Braddock and wife April, Melissa Morris Avants and husband Cody and Brandon Arnold Blain; five great grandchildren, Kailey and Kyle Braddock, Andrew and Jaren Berger and Brandt Blain; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
