Dorothy Dotty H. Mcleod

MCLEOD, DOTTY Dorothy H.DottyMcLeod, 76, of Waco passed away Friday, February 25, 2005 at a local hospital. A memorial service will be held Monday, February 28 at 1:00 pm at Austin Avenue United Methodist Church with Rev. Tom Robbins officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 7:00 – 8:30 pm Sunday, February 27 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Mrs. McLeod was born June 14, 1928 to Dr. John D. and Neita Noble Hathorn in Corsicana. She graduated from Temple High School in 1945 and in 1949 graduated from T.S.C.W. with a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry. She then married Thomas J.H. McLeod on August 11, 1956 in San Antonio. She was a member of Austin Avenue Methodist Church for 15 years, a member of the Friendship class and a member of P.E.O. Mrs. McLeod loved to teach. She was a substitute Sunday school teacher and she tutored in Richardson, TX where she worked with academically challenged and learning disabled children for over 20 years. Survivors include her husband of 48 years, son, John H. McLeod and wife Nancy of Waco; daughters, Beth Brence and husband Gerald R. of Plano, Katherine Veach and husband Brett of Memphis, TN; grandchildren, Lauren McLeod, Maggie McLeod and Peter McLeod, all of Waco, Ryan Brence of West Point, NY, Beau and Collin Brence of Plano, and Abby and Arden Veach of Memphis, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Austin Avenue United Methodist Church or Caritas of Waco.
