Dorothy Driskell Behringer October 23, 1924 - September 26, 2009 Dorothy Driskell Behringer of Waco passed away Saturday, September 26, 2009, at St. Catherine's Center. Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 29, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with the Rev. David Story officiating. Burial will follow at Lorena Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, September 28, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Dorothy was born October 23, 1924, in Lorena, Texas, to Thomas and Merle Copeland. She grew up in Lorena and Mullen, TX, and graduated salutatorian from Mullen High School in 1942. She worked for the United Way for 21 years as the Associate Executive Director. Dorothy was a member of Richfield Christian Church in Waco, a 38-year member of the American Business Women's Association, the Lorena Eastern Star and the Lorena Cemetery Association. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Merle Copeland; husbands, Bob Behringer and Joe Driskell; sisters, Catherine Copeland and Tommie Sue Boykin; daughter, Virginia Swanson; and grandddaughter, Lauren Kincer. She is survived by her sister, Frances Mirick of Waco; two daughters, Debbie Kincer and husband, Steve, of Waco, TX, and Nancy Rich and husband, Scot, of Corpus Christi; and son-in-law, John J. Swanson of Pennsylvania. Her surviving grandchildren are Margaret Ann Swanson-Abendschien, Suzan Swanson, Melissa Linendoll, Jennifer Querrey and Jeffrey Atwell; six great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Jeffrey Atwell, John Querry, Bryan Mirick, Doyle Bood, Jim McKethan and Steve Atwell. Honorary pallbearers Don Behringer, Randy Behringer and Bill Behringer. A special loving thank you is expressed to St. Catherine's Hospice Staff for sharing in her journey. Memorials may be made to Grant Story Fund in care of Richfield Christian Church.
