Dorothy Gordon October 10, 1926 - March 3, 2014 Dorothy Gordon of Hewitt passed away Monday, March 3, 2014 at Senior Care of Hewitt. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 6, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with The Rev. Morgan Woodard officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 5, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Dorothy was born October 10, 1926 in Delia, Texas to Revis and Lottie Sissom. She graduated from Axtell High School. She married James H. Gordon on January 4, 1946, and he preceded her in death on July 15, 2010, after 64 years of marriage. Dorothy worked in retail sales and retired from Dillards at Richland Mall. After retirement Dorothy enjoyed sewing, decorating, shopping, spending time with James and talking with her neighbor of over 50 years, Jean Adams. Dorothy was an avid Texas Ranger Baseball fan, and was very excited when they went to the World Series. She was a member of Timbercrest Baptist Church in Waco. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Gordon; grandson, Gary Miller, Jr. and one brother, R.C. Sissom, Jr. She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Miller and Debbie Gamble and husband, John, both of Hewitt, TX; three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
