Dorothy Green Moen

Dorothy Green Moen, age 102, of Waco, died Friday, March 5, 2004 at a local nursing home. Graveside services will be at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 10, at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Ron Durham officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 7-9 pm Tuesday, March 9, at the funeral home. Dorothy was born in Hochheim, Texas February 7, 1902. She moved to Waco as a child where she attended Waco schools. She married George Moen March 22, 1949. He preceded her in death in 1979. She was a long time member of Columbus Ave. Baptist Church. She was also the secretary for the Community Chest in Waco and she attended the National School of Shorthand in 1931. Survivors include daughters, Sarah E. Day of Freeport, Texas, Frances A. Schilling of Waco, Barbara L Nelder and husband Jim of Chesterfield, Virginia; 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren; 1 nephew and 1 niece. Memorial may be made to the Hillcrest Hospice or Columbus Ave. Children’s Building Fund.
