Dorothy Helen Turner December 1, 1921 - December 4, 2010 Dorothy Helen Edmondson Turner passed away Saturday, December 4, 2010. Services will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 7, at First United Methodist Church of Waco. Burial will follow at 3:30 p.m. in the family plot at Woodland Park Cemetery in Mineral Wells, TX. Visitation with the family will be 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Monday, December 6, in the Garden Room at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Dorothy was born December 1, 1921, in Mineral Wells to Reece Edmondson and Cecelia Adele Hess Edmondson. She attended Mineral Wells public school and graduated from Mineral Wells High School in 1938. She attended Texas State College for Women in Denton for one year before returning to Mineral Wells where she entered Adams Business School. After graduation from there, she worked for Grantham Abstract Company, U.S. Department of Agriculture, Texas Power and Light and Ralston Purina Company. During World War II, she was secretary to the Post Engineer at Camp Wolters Infantry Replacement Center. After WWII, she worked for the Veterans Administration assisting veterans with disability claims. She married Charles B. Turner on June 12, 1946, in Mineral Wells after he returned from service in the Air Force as a pilot. They moved to Waco in 1968 where they established Time Manufacturing Company. Dorothy was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Waco, the Odell Dudley Sunday School Class and the Five-Alive Circle of the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Ralph Ripley Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the P.E.O. She was preceded in death by her parents and her son-in-law, Harold Dean Martin. She is survived by her husband, Charles B. Turner; two daughters, Dell Turner Martin and Cindy Turner Leonard and husband, Paul Leonard III; grandchildren, Melissa Dee Martin Hoggett and husband, Jerry Hoggett, Harold Dean Martin, Jr. and wife, Belinda, Jennifer Leigh Martin Riley and husband, Kelly Riley, Leigh Ann Leonard Stull and husband, Stephen Stull and Lauren Adele Leonard; great-grandchildren, Hannah Martin, Trady Martin, Cecilia Rose Riley, and Samantha Hoggett Larsen and husband Mike Larsen.
