Dorothy Lou Pool

Dorothy Lou Pool of Waco passed away Saturday, January 7, 2017. Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 11, followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Robbins officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Dorothy was born February 22, 1929 in Waco, Texas to Frank and Margaret Baker. Dorothy was a first grade teacher for 33 years for Waco I.S.D. She was a life-long member of Austin Avenue United Methodist Church. Dorothy graduated from Waco High in 1946 and from Baylor University in 1952, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Rudy. She is survived by her two sons, Lance, and Dana and wife Donna, and daughter, Allison. Also surviving are grandsons, Matthew Baker Pool and Colin O’Leary Pool, and sister, Martha Greene of Houston.
