Dorothy Lucille Norris February 13, 1920 – February 14, 2006 Dorothy Lucille Norris passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2006. Graveside services will be at 9:30 am Friday, February 17 at Rosemound Cemetery. Dorothy was born February 13, 1920 to W. I. Norris, Sr. & Johnnie Barron Norris in Waco. She graduated from Waco High School and attended Tabernacle Baptist Church. Dorothy left Waco for Beaumont/Houston area where she lived for 60 years. She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone for 30 years, starting as a telephone operator and retiring as an office manager in 1973. She then worked at Buffalo Pharmacy, a locally owned & operated drug store in Houston, for 30 more years. She was a charter member of Houston chapter of Beta Sigma Phi. For many years, Dorothy made elaborate scrapbooks as chapter historian and attended annual conventions. Dorothy was a creative and talented woman with numerous hobbies and was an active volunteer in the Leisure Club of her local bank. She was also a licensed beautician. In 2002, her niece, Judy, took her to the Sherman area and cared for her until her death. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, W. I. Norris, Jr. She is survived by her sister, Awilda Norris Baker of Sherman, TX; niece, Judy Baker Templeton of Sherman, TX and nephew, Calvin Woodson Baker of North Richland Hills, TX.
