After 26 years of being apart, Dorothy Mae Phillips has gone to be reunited with her late husband and the love of her life, Peck Phillips. She departed this earth on Friday, July 1 in the evening hour of 7:45 and has joined him at the pearly gates! Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 6 at Beacon Hill Baptist Church, with the Rev. Harley Gordon, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Stranger Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 5 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Dorothy was born April 27, 1922 in Stranger, Texas to Jasper and Carrie Hardegree Erskine. She enjoyed many years at Owens-Illinois and retired after more than a quarter of a century of service in 1982. She was preceded in death by her husband, Peck. Survivors include daughters, Deborah Phillips of Dallas and Charlotte Phillips of Waco; son, James Peck Phillips of Austin; grandchildren, Chipper, Shaylin, and Tiffany; sister, Bernadine Ricketts of Lorena; brother, Kenneth Erskine and wife Mildred, of Lakeland, Florida; nieces, Diane Ricketts of Lorena and Lisa Anderson of Mesquite; and close family friends, Margaret Sanders and Ginger Townley. Pallbearers will be Brian Townley, Josh Cook, Mike Anderson, Adam Cook, Joe Bearden, and Mickey Cook. Special thanks to the Staff of Regent Care Center and Providence Hospice. She will be sorely missed by all of her family and friends at the Beacon Hill Baptist Church.
