Dorothy Wright Prestwich of Waco, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 26, 2016. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 1, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home with Reverend Jane Woodward officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 30, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Dorothy was born December 28, 1923, in Hillsboro, Texas. She was the first daughter of Rayburn Fullerton Wright and Daisy (Martens) Wright. Dorothy Wright graduated in 1941 and then met and married Stanley Bruce Prestwich on Oct. 1, 1942. She was presently a member of McLennan Chapter #639 of the Order of Eastern Star. She belonged to China Spring United Methodist Church, Daughters of American Revolution (DAR), United Daughters of the Confederacy (UDC), Daughters of the Nile and Heart of Texas Water Garden Pond Society. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband of 60 years, Stanley; one daughter, Jeri Crain; grandson, Mark William Crain; great grandson, Jacob Crain; sister, Doris Mellor; and brother, Rayburn Wright, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Scala and husband, Louis, of Woodbury, Texas; her four grandchildren, Douglas Scala and wife, Elizabeth, of Athens, Texas, Johnathan Scala and wife, Shannon, of Fort Worth, Michael Crain and wife, Kimberly, of Allen, Texas, and Melissa Donoso and husband, Tony, of China Spring; many great grandchildren; and her beloved dachshunds, Jack and Jill.
