PEACOCK, DORRIS Dorris Frey Peacock, age 89, lost her battle with cancer Sunday morning, at her daughter’s home in Speegleville. Services will be at 1:30pm Tuesday, July 15, 2003 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with the Rev. Ben Disney officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 6-8pm Monday, July 14 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Dorris was born March 11, 1914 in Waco to Emin and Ruby Dyer. United in marriage on June 11, 1933 to Oren Tax Peacock. She was a beautician at the Cottage Beauty Shop. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church formerly St. John’s UMC where she was a Sunday School teacher for the Fellowship Class for many years. Dorris enjoyed spending time with her family, her church family and fishing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oren Peacock, Sr.; her son, Bobby Dill; her parents; two sisters, Daisy Ruth Wallace and Evelyn Blain; two brothers, Frank Dyer and Charlie Dyer. Survivors include her son, Oren Peacock, Jr. and wife Elizabeth of Sachse, her daughter, Linda VanDenBerg of Speegleville; her sister, Margaret McDaniels and brother, Lillard Bud Dyer and wife Joy all of Speegleville; seven grandchildren, Mark & Kelly Robinson of Wylie; Dawn & Robbie Blenden of Speegleville; Robyn and Joe Williams of China Spring; Steve and Donna Robinson of Lorena; Kelli VanDenBerg & Jeff Weiss of Waco; Matt & Shannon Peacock of Allen; Brandi & Franz Hyland of Crawford; 16 great-grandchildren, Randa, Kara & Jake Blenden; Whitney Post; Jake, Tye, Haylee & Shelby Williams; Brock Hyland; Zack & Luke Robinson; Levi & Rusty Robinson; Cyndi & David Cox; Matthew & Nikki Peacock; and one great-great grandchild, Garrett Smith.
