Douglas Lee Cox April 30, 1927 - July 11, 2009 Douglas Lee Cox of Waco passed away Saturday, July 11, 2009 at Providence Hospital. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. at McGregor Cemetery with the Rev. Greg Brumit officiating. Douglas was born April 30, 1927 in McGregor, Texas to Robert and Ruth Cox. Douglas graduated from Waco High in 1944 and served in the South pacific until the end of World War II. He attended college and received degrees in chemistry and physics. After being employed by several firms the Dallas area he established Cox Laboratories, Inc. and was a consulting chemist. He is the author of several scientific papers and holds several patents. He retired and moved to Waco in 1986. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert H. and Ruth Donaldson Cox. He is survived by three daughters, Peggy Cox White of Lewisville, Sherry A. Sapp of Florida and Debra S. Cox of Dallas; and a son, Douglas Lyle Cox of Garland and numerous grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Friends for Life, 5000 Lakewood Drive, Waco, TX 76710.
