Doyle Carl Tumey of Irving passed away Saturday, December 2, 2017, at Baylor Hospital in Grapevine, Texas. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 7, at Moody Cemetery with Rev. Greg Brumit officiating. Visitation in Irving will be 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 6, at Donnelly’s Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway. Visitation in Waco will begin at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 7, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home, 6101 Bosque Blvd, Waco TX 76710, (254) 753-3691. Doyle was born March 22, 1934, in Madill, Oklahoma, to Alex Juzon Tumey and Anna Walker Tumey. He served with the United States Army in the Artillery Unit in Fort Sill, Oklahoma, before marrying his adored wife of 56 years, Barbara. He is retired from General Motors Parts Division where he was employed for 33 years. He enjoyed visiting his lake house and spending time with his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann Tumey; his parents; three sisters and three brothers. He is survived by two sons, Dale Tumey and wife, Sandra, of Arlington, Texas, Dan Tumey and wife, Jennifer, of Red Oak, Texas; and one daughter, Dana McElyea and husband, Tom, of Southlake, Texas; six grandchildren, Dan Tumey, Jr., and wife, Whitney, Madison Tumey, Jack and Grant Tumey, Alex Tumey and Colton McElyea; and numerous nieces and nephews.
