Dr. Carl J. Cramm, Jr.

DR. CARL J. CRAMM, JR. Dr. Carl J. Cramm, Jr., 84, of Waco, died Saturday, September 21, 2002 in Dallas. Services will be held at 11:30am Thursday, September 26 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with Rev. Stephen Ramsdell of First United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6-8pm Wednesday, September 25 at the funeral home. Dr. Cramm was born on February 9, 1918 in Russell, Kansas. He graduated from Emporia State Teacher’s College in 1936. He served in the U.S. Navy, and was honorably discharged on July 6, 1946. He attended the University of Kansas where he graduated in 1948 with a degree in Liberal Arts, and in 1951 with a degree in Medicine. He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha. He then moved to Texas where he began practicing medicine at Scott & White Hospital in Temple. Dr. Cramm married his wife, Lucille, on September 16, 1956. Dr. Cramm retired from the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in 1995 after thirty-nine years of service, most recently as Chief of Medicine and Acting Chief of Staff. He also served as a faculty member of the Texas A & M University Medical School from 1981 to 1995. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Board of Directors of the Salvation Army, and the Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Lucille Cramm; two sons, Carl J. Cramm, III of Spring and Carl Tate Cramm of Dallas; one brother, Dr. Russell E. Cramm of Grand Island, Nebraska; three sisters, Louise McKelvy of Englewood, Colorado, Mary Cannaday of Pueblo, Colorado, and Catherine Meyer of Alva, Oklahoma, and one grandson, Carl J.
