Dr. Lee Helm, Jr. January 14, 1922 - January 16, 2010 Dr. Lee Helm, Jr. of Woodway passed away Saturday, January 16, 2010, at his residence. Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 20, at Richfield Christian Church with the Rev. David Story officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Viewing will be all day Tuesday, January 19, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Lee was born January 14, 1922, in Mart, Texas, to Lee and Willie Helm, Sr. He was a direct descendant of �Bosque John� McLennan and Neil McLennan, for whom the county was named. Dr. Helm attended the Waco public schools, graduating from Waco High in 1939. He attended Baylor University in Waco from 1939-1942, and Baylor University College of Dentistry in Dallas, graduating in 1949. He practiced dentistry in Waco until his retirement. He was a member of the Eleventh District of the Texas Dental Association in which he served in all administrative positions and serving as President from 1963-1964. He was a life member of both the American Dental Association and the Texas Dental Association. He was a veteran, having served in World War II as a pilot and again during the Korean Conflict as a dental officer in the Far East Theater. He was a member of Richfield Christian Church, and had served on the official board of both Richfield and Central Christian Church. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Bea Helm, of Woodway, TX; a daughter, Sandra Summers and husband, Gordon, of McAllen; one son, Gary Helm of Hewitt; two grandsons, Kevin Helm of Plano and Sandon Helm of Hewitt; a brother, Dr. George E. Helm, a sister, Margaret Casey; numerous nephews; and one niece. Pallbearers will be Minor Helm, Charles McCoy, Jack Munson, Jerry Murphy, Gordon Summers, and John Westmoreland. Honorary pallbearers are Lloyd Lewis and Clint Montgomery. The family would like to thank Dr. Hodges and Lauren with Compleat Physicians; Vicki and Tootie with the Providence Cardiac Rehab; Kim and Debbie with Southern Care; Donna, Tasha, Tina, Sherri #1 & #2, Michelle, Kathy, Debbie Aretha and Febes, all with Providence Heart Failure Clinic.
