Dumont Henry Hunt January 23, 1911 March 27, 2008 Dumont Hunt, 97, of Waco passed away Thursday, March 27, 2008. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, March 31, at Oakwood Cemetery, with Rev. David Shuttlesworth officiating. Dumont was born January 23, 1911, in Ocee, Texas, to Mr. and Mrs. James R. Hunt. He played football under Paul Tyson at Waco High School, graduating in 1931. In March of 1937 Dumont and Opal M. Rogers were married. During World War II he served in the Navy in the Pacific. A long-time member of Columbus Avenue Baptist church, Dumont was a deacon and member of the Frank Wilson Sunday School Class. He was a 32nd Degree Mason. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Joe, Gene and Claude Hunt, and a sister, Mildred Anz. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Opal; his sister, Bobbie Byrne of Fort Worth; two nieces, Barbara Wells of Waco and Linda Bunnell of Wisconsin; and two nephews, Tom Hunt of Dallas and James Hunt of Waco.
