LILLARD, ELWOOD “WOODY” Elwood “Woody” Theodore Lillard, a resident of Spring, Texas passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2004. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 26 at 6 PM to 8 PM at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Boulevard, Waco, Texas 76710. Funeral services are scheduled at 9:30 AM at the funeral home on Friday. February 27, 2004. Burial will follow at Cottonwood Cemetery in Falls County, Texas. He was born on December 6, 1934, in Malone, Texas and grew up in Lorena, Texas. He first attended Navarro College on a football scholarship and eventually transferred to Baylor University where he graduated with a degree in Biology. He began his long and distinguished career as a sales representative with A.H. Robins pharmaceutical company in 1959. He was promoted through sales management at AHR as a Trainer, District Manager and Regional Manager. In 1987, Woody accepted the position of Vice President Sales & Marketing, ESI, a division of AHR. After AHR merged in 1988 with Wyeth-Ayerst, he was again promoted to Vice President, Sales Hospital Products. In 1993, Woody was offered and accepted the Vice President Sales position at Marsam where he retired from the pharmaceutical industry in 1996. In his post retirement years, he was the founder and president of the Lillard Group which published Lizard Tales, a selection of children’s books written and illustrated by his daughter Elizabeth Lillard. Woody was preceded in death by his father, David Carter Lillard; mother Susie Lelia Stokes; three sisters Billie Banks; Bonnie Hill; Ava Sheets; and brother David Lillard. He is survived by two daughters, Emily Elizabeth Lillard of Perdido Key, Fla.; Susan Lillard Fendley Michael of Houston, Texas; and one granddaughter, Elizabeth Brooke Fendley of Houston, Texas; sisters Joy Civiletto Vic of Dallas, Texas; Faye McDonald Louis of Houston, Texas; Nola Oliver Thomas of Irving, Texas; Sue Wedemeyer of Waco, Texas; a brother, Ray Lillard Nell of Blontsville, Alabama; other extended family members; and many, many friends.
