Theo Lee January 21, 1915 December 15, 2008 Etta Theo Lee, of Waco, passed away Monday, December 15, 2008, at St. Catherine's. Graveside services will be held 1:30 p.m., Thursday, December 18, at Waco Memorial Park with Mitchell Parrish officiating. Visitation with the family will be 4:00 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 17, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Theo was born in Powderly, Texas, on January 21, 1915, where she was one of eleven children born to William Coleman and Edna Ann Roads Smyers. She attended schools in Powderly before moving to Paris, Texas. She moved to Waco with her sisters, where they worked at Hawk and Buck for several years. She then moved to Houston, where she met Elton Lee and they were married on December 26, 1949. They moved to LaPorte and later to Baytown, where they resided until Elton's death in February of 1973. In August of 1973, Theo returned to Waco to live, and in 1975 her older sister Opal Beaty moved to Waco to live with her. The sisters could be seen walking at the Lake Air Mall and later at Richland Mall almost every week. Theo attended Western Heights Baptist Church where she was an active member of the Gleaners Sunday School Class until she could no longer drive. Theo loved playing 42 with her friends at church on Fun Day and at The Village where she had resided. She always looked forward to the Monday morning walk at the mall, followed by a trip to the donut shop for coffee with her friends. Preceding her in death were her three brothers, Bill, Joe and Lester; and five sisters, Minnie, Delora, Ellen, Mamie and Opal. She is survived by her twin sister, Cleo Boone and her youngest sister, Norma Jones, both of Waco; her nieces, Donna Kay Jones Cox and husband, Tom, of Crawford, and Sylvia Henderson of Arlington; and her very special friend, James Slavin. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. The family invites you to leave a message or memory in our "Memorial Guestbook" at www.WilkirsonHatchBailey.com.
