Earl F. DeLay, Jr. Earl F. DeLay, Jr., age 81, of Waco died Friday, November 08, 2002 at a local hospital. Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 11, at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church with The Rev. Janne Alro Osborne officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial North. Visitation with the family will be from 7:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, November 10 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey funeral home, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Mr. DeLay was born in Parsons, Kansas on July 20, 1921 to Earl F. DeLay, Sr. and Louise McCormick. He was a resident of Waco since 1958. Mr. DeLay attended the University of Texas and entered the Navy as a pilot. He then attended and graduated from Kansas State, where he was a member of the Theta Phi Fraternity. He retired from Hercules after 28 years of service. He was a member of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church. Mr. DeLay was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Kerth, on August 8, 1995, and a sister, Sara McReynolds. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Billie DeLay, of Waco; daughters, Shellie Johnson of Lubbock and Debra Gates of Waco; and grandchildren, Randall Kerth, Courtney Kerth, Nicole Guyear, Lindsey Pierce and Clinton Gates. Keith Ferguson, Dr. O.H. Browning, Ed Starnes, Robert Denton, Randy Kerth and Tom Warner will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Watson Arnold, Dr. Clay Weekley, R.J. Martinelli, Rev. Mel Prather and Ellion Bennett. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or a favorite charity.
