Earl R. Holloway January 17, 1939 - July 23, 2014 Earl Regan Holloway of Robinson passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at a local hospital. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 26, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with the Rev. Brian Coats and the Rev. Richard Roland officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 5:00 7:00 p.m., Friday, July 25, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Earl was born January 17, 1939, in Durant, Oklahoma, to George and Elaine Motter Holloway. He graduated from Ardmore High School in Ardmore, Oklahoma, in 1957 and from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in 1962. He served six years in the Army Reserve. Earl spent most of his career in advertising, retiring from Country World News in 2011. He was an avid model railroader and had many published articles and photographs in railroading books and magazines. He was a life member of the National Model Railroad Association and a member of the Katy Railroad Historical Society. He also followed Baylor football and was a season ticket holder since 1983. Earl was currently serving as Chair of the Deacons at Central Christian Church of Waco and served on several other church boards at Central Christian. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Elaine; daughter, Kathy Schmedthorst and husband, Denis, of Hallsburg; son, Scott Holloway and wife, Tabitha, of Houston; grandchildren, Allie, Molly, Dawson and Abby; brother, Jim Holloway and wife, Mary, of Ardmore; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Mike Woodson, Steve Wilson, Bill Felkner, Frank Hughes, Joe Cook and Tony Powell. Honorary pallbearers are Ed Joseph, Ken Fitzgerald, Jay Roberts and Ken French.
