Eddie Mae Blackburn July 14, 1919 January 30, 2009 Eddie Mae Blackburn went to be with her heavenly Father on Friday, January 30, 2009. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 3, at First United Methodist Church of Waco with the Rev. Stephen Ramsdell officiating. Internment will follow at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro, Texas. Visitation with family and friends will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, February 2, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd, Waco. Mrs. Blackburn was born July 14, 1919, one of six children, to parents Eula Beatrice Bratcher Gray and Eddie L. Gray, after whom she was named. She grew up in the Revere Community of Hill County and attended Hill County schools. On August 20, 1938 in Waxahachie, she married Robert Milton Blackburn of Hillsboro. After 42 years of employment, she retired from sales and management of retail clothing stores. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Waco and a faithful member of the Odell Dudley Sunday School class. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, Robert M. Blackburn; her parents; brothers, R.E. and EL Gray; sisters, Opal Witt, Estelle Posey and Ollie B. "Sweetie" Cole. She is survived by her daughter, Kay Crocker of Waco, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, niece and nephew.
