YU, EDGARDO D. Edgardo D. Yu, 51, of Hewitt, passed away Friday, December 5, 2003, at a local hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Wednesday, December 10 , at St. Louis Catholic Church with Rev. Chris Ferrer, Rev. Celso Yu, and Rev. Benjie Magnaye as celebrants. Visitation with the family will be 6-8pm Tuesday, December 9, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Mr. Yu was born November 25, 1952 to Jose Canoy Yu and Elvira Dagcasin Yu in Manila, Philippines. Ed was a loving and caring husband, father, brother, and friend. He enjoyed traveling, attending parties, watching his favorite soap operas, working on his computer and shopping. He was a truth seeker and strived to do his best in every thing he did. His educational background included the following; a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Administration /Accounting at Philippine School of Business Administration in Manila; leadership management courses, US Army in Indianapolis, IN; finance/ pay system software computer training program, Indianapolis, IN; computer troubleshooting program in Germany; and several computing training in San Diego and St. Petersburg, FL and Austin; finance specialist training program in IN. His job experience included the following; Time Deposit Clerk, Finance Supervisor, Disbursing Officer, Finance Document Processing, Audit Reconciliation, Tax Examiner Clerk, and Computer Technician. Ed served in the United States Army in Japan, Korea, Germany and retired at Fort Hood in Killeen. He received a total of eight commendation and service medals and a sharpshooter marksmanship badge. He worked at the VA Regional office since 1996 as a computer technician. As a VA employee, he received several awards for his accomplishments. Mr. Yu was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Angelta T. Yu of Hewitt; daughters, Anna Lorraine Yu of Killeen, and Donna Mae Yu of Killeen; sons, Jan Michael Yu of Killeen; the mother of his children, Michiko A. Yu of Killeen; setp-sons, James M. and Michael Andrew Petrich of Riesel; sisters, Carolina Cotter and husband Mark of Granada Hills, CA, Carmelita Eduarte and husband Ed of Glendale, CA; brothers, Albert D. Yu and wife Chona of Glendale, CA; niece, Nina F. Yu Pallbearers will be; Jame Petrich, Ande Petrich, Leon Johnson, Dary Santos, Bong Convento, Terry Kutej, Brent Hubbell, and Bert Ocampo.
