Edith Mullins Ellis June 10, 1915 June 14, 2008 Edith Mullins Ellis, 93, of Lubbock, formerly of Waco, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2008. Burial services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, June 18 at Riesel Cemetery with a memorial service following at 1:30 pm in the chapel at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey funeral home. Edith was born in Waco, Texas to Richard and Ada Sharp. She grew up in Riesel and graduated from high school there where she also played basketball. Edith moved to Mart and lived there for 12 years prior to moving to Waco. She married Bill Mullins on December 24, 1936 and he passed away in 1967. She then married Richard Ellis in 1968 and he also preceded her in death in 1997. Edith loved to work and be around people; she never met a stranger. She worked for H.E.B for 10 years as a food demonstrator. She also loved to cook for her family. She was a member of Crestview Church of Christ where she also enjoyed being in the 39 Group. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, parents, one step-son, three brothers and 1 sister. Survivors include daughter, Bille Mullins Roark and husband, Don of Lubbock; grandchildren, Kristi Denton and husband, J.D. of Flower Mound and Kirk Roark of Dallas, step-son, Louis Ellis of Waco; great grandchildren, Jace and Kate Denton and numerous other nieces and nephews.
