Edith Marie Mccarver

Edith Marie McCarver of McKinney passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at Stonefield Memory Care. Services will be 1:30 p.m., Saturday, May 27, at Southside Church of Christ with John Rainey officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, May 26, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Edith was born January 24, 1933, in Trenton, Arkansas, to Charlie and Georgia Weeks. She worked in the banking industry for many years in Waco, starting at Westview National Bank in 1970. She was a loving wife and mother and loved spending time with her family. She was a member of the genealogy society and enjoyed tracing her family tree, sewing and playing bingo. Edith was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill; a sister, Charlene Dickens; and three half bothers, Jack Adams and Richard and George Willhite. She is survived by a son, Billy McCarver and wife, Pamela; daughter, Kay Lay and husband, Troy; a sister, Patsy Plumley; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are Colt McCarver, Tyler McCarver, Dustin McCarver, Logan Lay, Chris Webb and Matt Overley. Memorials may be made to Southside Church of Christ, 4800 S. Loop 340, Waco TX 76706.
