Roberta Smith Mrs. Bill D. Roberta Smith died in her sleep in Hillcrest Hospital on Thursday, May 17, 2001 after a 6 year long battle with cancer. Services will be graveside at Chapel Hill Memorial Park at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, May 19th . Visitation will be Friday, May 18th at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Washington Chapel. Mrs. Smith was born in Ranger TX on Dec 2 1925. She attended Ranger Junior College before moving to Waco and marrying J C Patterson and having 2 children, Steven and Cynthia. Once settled in Waco she worked as a bookkeeper for Texas National Bank until she was divorced and married Bill D Smith having another child, William. She did many community activities including running the Bellmead Community Center Library for several years and helping Irene Koen feed the Bellmead Lions after their weekly meeting. She is survived by a sister, Maxine Morris of Beeville TX; a brother, Raymond Bud Landtroop of San Antonio TX; a daughter, Cynthia Phillips of Carrollton TX; a son, William Smith of Bellmead TX; a daughter-in-law Deborah Smith of Bellmead TX; and 3 grandchildren, John Phillips, Kathryn Phillips and Heather Smith.
