Cernosek, Edmund Edmund Cernosek, age 78, died peacefully, in a local hospital Wednesday, April 10, 2002. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1:30 PM Saturday, April 13, 2002 at St. Louis Catholic Church with Rev. Melvin Dornak officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Marlin, Texas. Rosary will be recited 4:30 PM Friday, April 12 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Edmund was born May 19, 1923 to Julia and Raymond Cernosek in Penelope, TX. Upon graduation from Hubbard High School in 1941, he moved to Dallas. He attended specialized schools, then began working in the aircraft industry during WWII. In 1945 he started a new career in the motion picture industry. He was employed by National Theatre Supply, becoming Branch Manager for several years. In 1972 he joined the United Artist Theatre Circuit working in several capacities for 22 years, where he received numerous honors and awards. He was also an active member of the North Texas Variety Club and St. Patrick Catholic Church. In the motion picture industry he was known as “Ed” and very well liked by all. Ed always wore a smile and was a most dedicated employee. For his success, Ed would always say “Thanks to John Rowley.” Ed chose to retire in 1992 after 45 years. In 1996 Edmund and his wife moved from Dallas to their new retirement home in Waco. After 56 years of marriage on April 21, 2002, his loving wife, Vinnie Margaret, survives him. He is also survived by brothers-in-law Edward Hays, Glenn Hays and wife, Shirley, Oscar Lee Torbett and wife, Virginia. Nephews Michael Torbett and wife, Judy, Lee Torbett and wife, Gayle, Todd Hays and wife, Teri and Edward Hays, Jr. and wife Laura. Niece Julie Smith and husband, Scott. Great Nieces Lora Lee Farmer, Tara Lee Deck, Donas Quin, Kameron Hays, Savannah Hays, Haley Smith, Amanda Cowart Kiraly and Leslie Torbett. Great Nephews Jon Torbett and Collin Smith. 5 great great nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Glenn Hays, Norman Harris, Todd Hays, Mark Schulman, Edward Hays, Jr., Michael Torbett, Bill Sams and Ernest Bezdek.
