SMITH, EDNA Edna Aynes Smith, age 99, of Bosqueville died Tuesday, June 19, 2001 at a local nursing home. Services will be 9:30 AM Friday, June 22nd at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with Rev. Lynn Willhite officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, June 21st at the funeral home. Mrs. Smith was born October 1, 1901 in Jacksboro, TX to James and Kathryn Aynes. She was reared and attended school in Crosbyton, TX. She later graduated from Hardin-Simmons University in 1921 where she majored in education. She became a schoolteacher in Snyder, TX. Edna later married Gip Smith in 1922 and became a homemaker and mother. They lived in West Texas until moving to Bosqueville in 1927. She was a member of Bosqueville United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gip Smith in 1982, son, Gip Smith, Jr., great granddaughter, Mallory Carlile, daughter-in-law, June Smith, four sisters and one brother. Survivors include: Sons: Fred Smith of China Spring Chesley Smith, Sr. of Bosqueville Grandchildren: Larry Smith, Kay Carlile, Chesley Smith, Jr., and James Smith Great grandchildren: Melinda Smith, Justin Smith, Trey Smith, Lauren Carlile, Kenneth J. Smith, Daniel Smith, Derek Smith, and Layton Gipson Smith. Niece: Magie Jones Nephew: Bob Beal Pallbearers will be William C. Carlile, Randy Johnson, Addis McNamara, Stewart Scott, Tommy McNamara, and Leon Willhite. Honorary pallbearers are Steve Crump, Albert Cobbs, Jr., Tom McNamara, Euell Dee Johnson, Douglas Burton, Sr., and Rhea Waters. WILKIRSON-HATCH-BAILEY
