Edna Gowdy January 5, 1913 - January 8, 2008 Edna Gowdy, formerly of Waco, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at Richardson Regional Medical Center. Services will be at 1:30 p.m.Saturday, January 12, at Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Dr. Bobby Bridges officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, prior to the service at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Edna was born January 5, 1913 in Gholson, TX to Ver and RobbieTyler. She grew up in Hope, AR and Memphis, TX. She married Pete Gowdy December 24, 1933. The family moved to the Chalk Bluff Community and Edna was a long time member of Chalk Bluff Baptist. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Ermon, Jake and Gene Tyler; sister, Laverne Davis; grandsons, Jerry McLemore and Russell Gowdy. She is survived by son, Ray Gowdy and wife, Shirley of Arlington; daughter, Faye McLemore of Garland; brother, Weldon Tyler and wife, Joy of Waco; 6 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
