Edna was born, along with her twin brother Edwin, to William and Minnie Hoeffner, on October 2, 1920, in Clay County Texas. She attended primary school in the Hurnville Community and graduated from Henrietta High School. After graduation, she moved to Waco, and lived with her Uncle and Aunt, Fred and Leondena Hoeffner, and worked for Marstaller Grocery Store, S. H. Kress Department Store, and the Waco Public School Administration. Her friend, Mable Ekrut, introduced her to Harry Lampert, Mable's youngest brother, who was completing his degree at Southwestern University after returning from Europe during WWII. Edna and Harry were married on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1948, at Cottonwood Baptist Church in Falls County. They made their home in Waco for many years, during which she worked in accounting for Mosley Machinery, Weston Biscuit Company, and First Federal Savings. During this time, their only son, Bruce, was born. In 1969, she and Harry moved to Hurst, Texas, where they resided until Harry's death in 1990. Then she returned to Waco, where she lived until health issues compelled her to move closer to her son in Abilene. Edna was a deeply committed Christian. She and Harry were members of Central Baptist Church in Waco. When they moved to Hurst, they were active members of First Baptist Church, Hurst. When she returned to Waco, she joined Columbus Avenue Baptist Church. In Abilene, she joined Wylie Baptist Church, and participated in the church's class at Royal Estates Assisted Living, where she resided. She also enjoyed attending Paisano Baptist Encampment in the Davis Mountains. Edna loved her family and kept up with everyone through email and social media. She liked all kinds of crafts, but especially she loved to cookand she did it well! Nothing thrilled her more than making dinner for her grandchildren. She was a dedicated Baylor Bears and Dallas Cowboys fan; and if there was ever a "42" game, she wanted to play. She is survived by her son, Rev. Dr. Bruce Lampert and wife, Barbara, of Abilene; and her grandchildren, Dr. David Lampert of Chicago, Illinois, Amy McAdams and husband, Dr. Rocky McAdams, of Abilene and John Lampert and wife, Kalyn Lampert, of Oklahoma City; and her great grandchildren, Brinley and Cason McAdams; a step-grandson, Blake Kitchens and wife, Desiree, and their son, Bryce. She is also survived by her cousin-who-was-like-a-sister, Mary Lou Hoeffner, of Waco; sisters-in-law, Vondee Hoeffner, of Waco, Katherine Hudler of Gatesville, Delores Shirley of Round Rock, and Hazel Gibson of Katy; and a host of nieces and nephews.
