EDNA STEVENS Edna M. Stevens, 92, of Robinson, died Saturday, February 23, 2002 at her residence. Services will be 2:00PM, Wednesday, February 27 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Ramsdell and Rev. Robert Morgan officiating. Private family burial will be at Taylor City Cemetery in Taylor, Texas. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00PM Tuesday, February 26 at WILKIRSON-HATCH-BAILEY, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Mrs. Stevens was born July 4, 1909 in Bessmay, Texas. She was the fifth of six children born to Joseph & Anna Machac. She graduated from high school in San Antonio & Scott & White School of Nursing in Temple. She married Laurence E. Pokey Stevens on April 2, 1939. He preceded her in death April 28, 1988. Mrs. Stevens retired from Scott & White Hospital and Waco Veteran’s Administration Hospital as a registered nurse after more than 50 years of service. Mrs. Stevens was an active member of First United Methodist Church and also attended Cornerstone Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, a deeply committed and faithful disciple of Jesus Christ and an inspiration to her many friends. Survivors: daughter, Sharon Stevens Beattie & husband John of Delaware, Ohio; grandchildren, Douglas Beattie & wife Christina of Nashville, Tennessee and Christopher Beattie of Columbus, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church or Cornerstone Baptist Church. WILKIRSON-HATCH-BAILEY
