Edna M. Walker

April 25, 1922 — September 4, 2023

Edna Marguerite Walker, 101, of Athens, Texas, formerly of The Woodlands and Waco, went to her eternal rest on September 4, 2023. A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 8, 2023, at Waco Memorial Park Cemetery in Robinson, Texas. A visitation will be held at 10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the cemetery.


Mrs. Walker was born on April 25, 1922, in Riesel, Texas, to Edward George and Olga Sauer Reuwer. During her youth, she lived on the family farm with her brother and sister, Louis, and Mildred, and she attended Trinity Lutheran School. After graduating from Riesel High School in 1939, she moved to Waco and enrolled in 4-C Business School. She later accepted an office position with the Goldstein-Migel Co. She married Charles Lee Walker on July 1, 1950, and began her long life as a homemaker and avid gardener. She was a charter member of St. Paul Lutheran Church-Bellmead, where she was an active member until moving to The Woodlands in April of 2000. She was widowed in 2001 but continued to live an active lifestyle with her many new friends while attending Living Word Lutheran Church. In 2021, Mrs. Walker moved into Country Place Senior Living in Athens.


Edna is survived by her daughters, Mary Nell Jones of College Station and Ruth Ann Parsons (husband Mark) of Athens; two granddaughters, Paige Parsons Edwards (husband Alan) of Allen and Dr. Morgan Jones (husband Nathan Kidd) of College Station; and three great grandsons, Griffin Keates, Graham Keates and Theo Kidd.
