Edna Mozelle Johnson June 12, 1919 - January 9, 2009 Edna Mozelle Johnson of Hewitt passed away Friday, January 9, 2009. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, January 12, at Waco Memorial Mausoleum Chapel with the Rev. Randy Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, January 11, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Mozelle was born June 12, 1919, in Crawford, Texas, to David and Ruby Holmes and entered her heavenly reward on Jan. 9. 2009, after suffering a stroke. She married Harley V. Johnson on Nov. 16, 1940, and he preceded her in death on May 28, 1991. Mozelle was devoted to her husband and children and loved nothing more than serving them and others. She made everyone who walked through her door feel welcomed and loved. She and Harley were lifelong members of Emmanuel Baptist Church where Mozelle taught Sunday School for many years. After her first stroke she could not talk, but could sing Jesus Loves Me all the way through. She is survived by her daughter Vivian Skinner and her husband, John, of Alto, New Mexico; her son, David Johnson and wife, Brenda, of Waco; grandsons, David Johnson, Jr. and wife, Melissa, of Lancaster, TX, and Justin Johnson and wife, Amber, of Italy, TX; and great grandsons, Austyn, Kade, and Waco Johnson. She also leaves behind cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends and neighbors. The family wishes to thank Sterling House of Waco and Bluebonnet Hospice for their loving care in these last few months. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church or Bluebonnet Hospice.
