Edna Sanders Seureau November 17, 1914 – June 11, 2006 Edna Seureau, 91, of Waco passed away Sunday, June 11, 2006 at a local nursing facility. A graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 14 at Oakwood Cemetery with Dr. Michael Toby officiating. Visitation with the family will be at 5:30 to 7:30 pm Tuesday, June 13 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Edna was born in Orange, TX to Garriah Belda Sanders and Ida Sanders. She was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers and one sister. She graduated from Orange High School and Baylor School of Nursing. She lived in La Marque, TX where she was involved in civic and church activities and Director of Nursing at Galveston Memorial Hospital for more that 35 years until her retirement. After coming to Waco she worked part time for Ridgecrest Retirement Center where she was Director of Nurses. Edna was active at First Baptist Church of Woodway, loved playing cards with her church group, gardening and traveling the world. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Coone of Waco and two sons: Paul Seureau of Galveston and Edward Seureau of Houston; five grandchildren: Michelle, Melissa and Justin Seureau of Houston; Shannon Coone Coyle and husband, Michael of Dallas and Sheldon Coone and wife, Ashley of Dallas; two great grandchildren: Austin and Bailey Coyle of Dallas. The family expresses their profound gratitude to Hillcrest Hospice and to her caregiver, Joyce Rosas, for the wonderful care given to our beloved mother. Memorials may be made to Shriners Children Hospital in Dallas.
