Edward Gene Buddy Schraeder November 10, 1940 January 26, 2013 Edward Gene Buddy Schraeder, 72, passed away at his home after a seven-year journey with Hemangiopericytoma a rare sarcoma. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 30, at Trinity Lutheran Church of Riesel. Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 29, from 5:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m. at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Edward was born in Riesel, the second child of Edmund and Alvine Winkelmann Schraeder. He was baptized December 8, 1940 and confirmed April 11, 1954 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Riesel, Texas. He grew up enjoying the work and experiences of life on a farm. His father died when he was eighteen. When he was twenty-one, he married Betty Reich, July 14, 1962, allowing them to celebrate fifty years of devoted companionship. Even after doing the work of two men all week and on Saturday, they regularly went dancing on Saturday night. He was a devout Christian and lived a very blessed life. He will be missed. Buddy worked for several companies including Texas Coffin Co., Verner Bo Goldsmith Construction, and Meyer-Herod GIS. He also shod horses, farmed and did custom hay baling. He took great delight in his cattle and horses, and took special pride in his team of mules. He and Betty were key figures on many, many trail rides over the years. He was preceded in death by his father and mother; step-father, Emroy Knudson; brother, Jim; niece, Edith Northcutt; brothers-in-law, Robert Reich and Terrald Weaver; and parents-in-law, Lee and Louise Reich. He is survived by his wife, Betty; sisters, Doris Weaver and Elly and husband, Verner Bo Goldsmith; brother, Harvey and wife, Madeline Schraeder; sister-in-law, Irene Brown and husband Gail; brother-in-law, Adolph Reich and wife, Darlene; brother-in-law, Neil Reich and sister-in-law, Doris Reich; uncles and aunts, Lorene and Louis Jander, Wilburn and Dovie Winkelmann, and Johnny Harwell; nieces , nephews, and their families; Byron and Marylynn Weaver, Rodney Weaver, TJ Weaver, Scott Weaver, Greta Lyren, Christy Schraeder, Rebecca and Bill Gervasi, Jefferey and Amy Schraeder, Tamara and Kevin Roznos, Tonya and Tom Reynolds, Tasha and Jason Delony, Trena Goldsmith, LaShanya and Brent Nash, Andrea and Shannon O'Hair, Laura and Matt Dollar, Phillip and Ashley Brown, Sherry and Daniel Swick, Kimberly and Vince Margotta, Nannette and Gene Pankonian, KentBubba and Becky Reich, Neil Reich Jr. and Terri and Todd Millerd; and many more family members and friends.
