Edward H Moore, 77, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2007, in Houston, Texas. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 10, 2007, at the Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, with Monsg. Mark Deering officiating. Entombment will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 9, from 6 to 8 pm. at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Edward was born May 8, 1929 in Rosebud, Texas to Jesse A. Moore and Lena Rose Franz Moore. He graduated from Rosebud High School in 1946 and immediately joined the U. S. Navy. In 1949 he enrolled at Baylor University, from which he graduated in 1953 with a degree in accounting. That fall he began a ten year career in hospital management. While living in Wharton, Texas he met and married Rose Marie Ganske on September 7, 1955. Two children were born in Wharton, and two more in Dallas, where the family lived for ten years. While in Dallas, Edward joined the IBM Corporation and began a career in computers. The family moved to Waco in 1968, and in 1971 Edward became the data processing manager of Hillcrest Baptist Hospital. In 1978 he became the data processing manager of Spenco Medical Corporation, from which he retired in 1994. In retirement, Edward pursued his interest in family history. He researched the genealogy of his four main ancestral lines and his wife’s two main lines, and wrote four books on them. Edward was also a still and motion picture photographer for over half a century and spent many hours in retirement editing his slides and movies for the benefit of his descendants. Edward was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Marie Moore. He was fortunate to find love again and married Elizabeth Ann Dawe on June 10, 2006. Surviving Edward are his wife and children: David H. Moore and wife, Toni, of Iola; Annette M. Moore and Michael Knight of Houston; Frances R. Kroll and husband, Ronnie, of West; and Lisa G. Davis and husband, Clifton, of Wylie; stepchildren: Elizabeth C. Stambaugh and husband, Phil; William B. Gilmore and C. John Gilmore. His grandchildren are James and Rose Moore of Iola; Jason, Brian and Kevin Khoury of West; and Riley, Jennifer and Diana Davis of Wylie. Step grandchildren are Brad and Dee Dee Kroll, James Puryear, Jessica Stambaugh and Meghan Lunsford. His step-great grandchildren are Troy Puryear and Joshua Stambaugh. He is also survived by his brother, Jesse Lee Moore and wife, Sue, of Lorena and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer society.
