Edward Harold Tucker, 84, of Waco, Texas, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2017. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am November 11, in the Chapel at Providence Park with Father Cyril as celebrant. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. A Rosary will be held at 6:00 pm followed by a visitation on Friday, November 10, 2017, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Edward was born in Greeley Colorado on June 20, 1933 to Margaret Jane (Gilroy) Tucker and Francis Lockwood Tucker. He had a strong relationship with both his parents and lived with them until their deaths. He attended Sacred Heart Academy and Waco Public Schools. He worked for St. John’s Methodist Church for several years and made many wonderful friends and pleased his employers with his work. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and later attended daily Mass at his new home,St Catherine’s at Providence Park. Of the many activities Providence Park offers, Ed loved playing bingo, attending their music programs and participating in their annual field trips. He also enjoyed visiting the other residents and appreciated the company of the nuns and priests. Ed had a knack for making friends and acquaintances. While on outings around town a variety of people would recognize Ed, stop and say, “Hey Ed! How are you doing? Ed was a kind and generous man, whom his family and friends loved and will miss very much. He was preceded in death by his parents, two infant brothers and an older brother, John. He is survived by his sister, Colleen Tucker Snider of Waco and his younger brother, Donald Francis Tucker of San Angelo, nieces Elizabeth Waldon of Waco, Elaine Stuard of Dallas, Donna Tucker of San Angelo, Suzie Tucker of San Angelo, nephews Neill Snider of Waco and Dan Tucker of San Angelo, six great nieces and five great nephews. We would like to thank all the care providers and staff members, especially David McCauley, who supported and encouraged Ed throughout his years at Providence Park. Pallbearers are Ryan Stuard, Timothy Stuard, Larry Waldon, Ross Snider, Jack Snider and Neill Snider. Memorials may be made to Providence Park, 300 W.
