Edward J. Merenda, 64, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2023. A Memorial Visitation will be held 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home.
Ed was born September 6, 1958, in Waco, Texas, to Jerry Merenda and Katherine Merenda. He had a deep passion for baseball and softball, the latter being where he crossed paths and met his beloved wife, Shelly. In addition to his love for sports, Ed also enjoyed his time hunting, fishing, coaching his children and grandchildren, traveling, running 5Ks, and delving into all things related to history. After dedicating over thirty years to his role at Fleetwood Home Manufacturers, Ed decided to leave in order to embark on a new journey, establishing his very own home construction and remodeling business.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother; brother and sister-in-law, Jerome and Karan Merenda; mother-in-law, Sandy Rossi; brother-in-law, Roger Von Staden; and sister-in-law, Michele McMillen.
Ed is survived by his loving wife, Shelly Merenda; son, Jeremy Merenda; daughters, Heather Bryant and Amber Barker; father-in-law, Arnie Rossi; sisters, Donna Von Staden, Diane Schrimsher and Dor Brown; sons-in-law John Bryant and Nate Barker; sisters-in-law Carrie Will and Rhonda Rossi; brothers-in-law, Ray Rossi, Edd Schrimsher and Larry Brown Sr.; grandchildren, Taylor, Brookelyn, Makenzie, Rylie, Kaylie, Aubrey and Catie; great-grandson, Boston; as well as many other family members and friends.
