Edward Ludwig Kramer May 12, 1910- April 18, 2007 Edward L. Kramer, 96, passed away at Providence Hospital on April 18, 2007. Rosary will be recited at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home at 6:00 pm, Friday, April 20th with visitation to follow. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 21st at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of the Assumption, 1401 Washington in Waco, Texas with Msgr. Mark Deering, officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Mr. Kramer was born in Sandusky, Ohio, May 12, 1910. He attended Sandusky schools until he graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1928. Ed worked in the Sandusky area until 1937. He found his niche in the concrete pipe industry, and worked in various concrete products plants throughout the country until 1942. That year, he was sent to Waco to do concrete work relative to the war effort. He was the Plant Manager for Texas Concrete Works until his retirement in 1975. After his retirement, Ed joined his wife, Leota, as a co-owner of Magnolia Antiques in Fairgate Shopping Center and he refinished countless pieces of furniture that are still being enjoyed by his former customers. Ed and his wife ran this business until 1985. Mr. Kramer was a long-time member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He was elected Grand Knight of the Waco Council #1358 of Knights of Columbus in 1956-1957. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and one sister, and by his beloved wife of 57 years. He is survived by three sons and one daughter and their spouses, John and Millie Kramer of El Paso; Victor and Dewey Kramer of Decatur, Georgia; Dennis and Donna Kramer of Oglesby, Texas; and Karen and Joe Griffin of Waco. Ed was blessed with 10 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are Stephen Herbert, Robert Ross, Henry Griffin, Donald McClinton, Roy Wegwerth and George Luck. The family would like to thank all of the staff at Providence Park, St. Catherine Center and Providence Health Center for the loving care and prayers during the times that Ed was there.
