Edward Melton Pirelo

Edward Pirelo, 88, of Waco, Texas, passed away April 12, 2021, at Whispering Pines Nursing Home in Longview, Texas. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 17, at Waco Memorial Park. He was born at 2201 Lyle Ave. in North Waco to Nunzio and Catherine Pirelo. He worked as a barber for over 50 years and was known and loved by all. He married his childhood sweetheart, Norma Sue Roscher Pirelo, to whom he was married for over 50 years. In his younger years he was rated #2 in the State of Texas as a Black Bass fisherman. He was the subject of many articles in the Waco Tribune-Herald by Earl Golding. He fished Lake Whitney and made an episode or two of Fun of Fishing with Freddie Grant. In later years Edward enjoyed dominoes, football pots, poker and loved to play the lottery. He was famous for his unnatural good luck. Edward was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Pirelo; parents, Nunzio “Newt” Pirelo and Catherine Pirelo; siblings, Frank Pirelo, Harold Pirelo, Mary Pirelo Baker, Johnny Pirelo and Herbert Pirelo. He is survived by his sons, David Pirelo, Mike Pirelo and wife, Teresa, and Robert Pirelo and wife, Melanie; grandchildren, Tammy Sue McIver, Jessica Davis, Jason Pirelo, Ashley Bolden and Cody Pirelo; several great grandchildren; one brother Crisp Pirelo; and Katherine Pirelo.
